Lib Dem Initiative to Increase Public Toilets
Residents of Chingford Green have complained to Graham Woolnough and the Chingford Green Focus team about the lack of public toilets in the area. Well now there is good news! Lib Dem Councillor, Bob Belam, the cabinet member for Environment, told Graham that a community toilet scheme is being introduced in the borough based on the very successful scheme from Lib Dem Richmond Council (and continental Europe). The idea is for the Council to pay shops, pubs, cafes and other retailers to advertise and make their toilets available to the general public.
Graham Woolnough says "This scheme will enable people to use toilets in shops without feeling embarrassed about it. I am told that toilets in Council buildings will also be available so the newly refurbished library and Assembly Hall in Station Road will be available.
While Tory Councillors just moan, Graham and the Liberal Democrats get on with the job of improving things in Chingford.
